A professional licensed water or wastewater operator is the first barrier to protecting your customers against water born disease and illness. Most utilities are made up of a complex set of pumps, motors, filters, valves, piping, hydrants, meters and tanks, often including various hazardous chemicals all set up to work in unison to deliver safe drinking water to your customer and/or to remove and treat wastewater ready to safely deliver back into the environment. It is the operators job to make certain that all of the components are working correctly and to ensure that the water is meeting the standards established by the regulating authorities.
As with many professions today, water operators are a dying breed. Very few young people have a desire to enter the water and wastewater industry. The aging population of qualified licensed operators is set to retire in record numbers over the next 10 years. Competition for those who do choose to work in the water industry will be high. Finding qualified professionals to work in your small town or rural utility will come at a premium.
Is your utility ready to face this challenge? Have your sent someone to get a license only to have them leave for a higher paying job at another utility? Or maybe you have sent a person to school only to have them fail the test. Let us help you.
At ClearWater we pride ourselves in both hiring and training great operators who know how to keep your utility working as it should, and who know the rules and regulations required to keep your utility in compliance.
